Is IE Anti-Spyware a legitimitate spyware program?

I happened to notice in the tools section of IE7 a new addition named IE Anti-Spyware when i clicked i was directed to website named avosoftwarefeed.com Mc afee site advisor can give no info. as they have not tested the site.Does anyone know of this program,idid not put it there so i suspect it is a rogue program.Spybot, MC afee, Ad aware says my computer is spyware free, but i did not download IE Anti-Spyware.Does anyone have any ideas how to remove it?

I didn't care for Windows Defender too much. If you're looking for some anti spyware I would suggest some of these. Microsoft developed anti-spyware several years ago after Bill Gates discovered spyware on his computer.

It is called Windows Defender and it is free.

I once had a anti-spyware link (such as yours) attach itself to my IE program under "tools". It didn't do any harm but I could not get rid of it, even after deleting IE and reinstalling it.

You can download and scan your computer for free.

As the computer is booting press your "F8 Key" repeatly which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu" . Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.

After into safe mode,run an anti-spyware to remove the spyware and adware on you computer.

Make sure you have 1 or 2 antispyware on your computer and 1 antivirus and also 1 firewall.

I am using a web site that doesn't like IE 7 it prefers IE 6 I was wondering if anyone knew how to go from IE 7 to IE6. Thanks.

uninstall IE7 and then install the downloaded IE6

As a failsafe, download and install Firefox first - that way if it screws up and your left with no IE for a while, you can still get on the web and find a solution

Launch Firefox using IE Tab... any way?

Hey, I use Firefox 2, and I have IE Tab installed on it... instead of using bookmarks I use shortcuts that launch the firefox executable with the syntax as the URL

e.g.

firefox.exe http://thedomain.com

However, is there a way of getting firefox to launch it using the IE Tab automatically? Some sites are picky and want only the Trident (IE Engine).

Any ideas let me know

IE7 has various changes, you now must use your yahoo search or google. also fav's are the the star, but it is much faster

Popups/IE crashing when I close it?

Well, first off I use firefox...and I've been getting random popups from IE, but only when firefox is open...Whenever I close the popup, IE crashes...I've ran virus checkers, and adaware, everything I can think of..any help?

IE 7 Beta 3 will not open after installing?

I installed IE 7 Beta 3 but if I try to open it it flashes like it is blocked.

Before I installed it I closed Avast, Spyware and Firewall.

I had IE 6 and did not uninstall that. If I go to "My Favorites" I can open any site without a problem. After uninstalling IE 7 I can open IE 6 again without any problem. I use XP Pro with service pack 2. What went wrong ?

Let's assume that I have an IE explorer open. When I open another explorer window and go to google (or any site) and start typing in my query, then the first window will come up, unless it is minimized on the toolbar. Has anybody experienced this before ? I notice this does not happen with Mozilla. Is this a bug in IE explorer ?

Hex Variables used in many versions of windows that were released without the new verion of windows have a tenticy to confuse header requests with other windows, bringing them up if the are in the cache, like when they are open. Once they are in the RAM (minimised) this problem wont happen. Other browsers that are written in Visual Basic, like maxthon will have this problem as well, but if it [the browser] made out of a different language or configures the headers differently, then it will work fine.
